Biography
Used burst onto the scene in 2018 with “Mistakes”, a track that showcased his unique style. He is a classically trained violin player, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, but also a lover of the rave scene, a dedicated dj and dance music enthusiast. All of that combined gave Mistakes its unmistakable edge. While it was jump-up heavy, it also contained catchy melodies, strong introspective vocals and the kind of atmosphere only a true musician can come up with. It would become the blueprint for his trademark style.
He took his homegrown scene by storm, and went on to release banger after banger. The budding superstar rapidly expanded across the rest of Europe with constant touring, and quickly started broadening his horizon by experimenting with different styles of music.
More and more people took notice. UK powerhouse Bou enlisted him to help out on his remix of the classic “Gold Dust” by DJ Fresh, and then legend Fresh himself invited him into the studio to help create “Higher”. Both tracks were big hits and further propelled Used into the upper echelon of drum&bass.
Fresh then decided to revive his dormant Breakbeat Kaos label to release Used’s debut album, and Used got to work. The first single “You Say” was a smash hit, and while the world was awaiting the album to drop, Used started building his solo live show, which he debuted at Melkweg at ADE, after which he took the biggest version of said show to Ancienne Belgique, one of the most iconic concerts halls in Europe.
With solid tours in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a Tomorrowland main stage play and Pukkelpop boilerroom victory laps under his belt, the scope is ever widening for Used and the journey has only seem to have started.
